Arbitrary objects become particular things. The process of ›real‹ reflection, through which the objects gain the status of things, comes into perceptual focus here.
When objects present themselves in the mode of ›real‹ reflection and render their previous appearance unrecognisable, they become strange once more and ›real‹ in a different way.
How should the modified relationship between these objects be interpreted when it is beyond doubt that they are connected, if not identical, to one another in the status quo? These are strange things – they present themselves to us as if they were the epitome of congruence.
In a highly obscure way, they are organically intertwined; they have no wish to separate and lead an ›incongruent‹ solo existence. In their ›binding‹ thing-being they are no longer inconspicuous. They become exceptional, yet make no claim to being unique.
*
When each part is no longer separated from its counter-part, a structure of constitutive togetherness is formed. That which is not in confrontation with its counter-part takes up an ›advancing‹ position, while an intimate spatial schema also comes into view for the prospective twofold unity.
This relationship of like to like is something that develops between previously isolated objects and establishes a new mode of being in an agreeably spatial alliance. Whereas a moment ago there were two separate parts, now one form of twofold unity is to be seen. The unification process emphasizes the dynamic character of this occurrence and can be viewed as reciprocal penetration.
The ambition to leave the duality and relinquish oneself to the singular is like a prelude to everything that follows: each part bursts out of itself and into the other – complete protuberance.
Distance relations are abolished; substances merge within the same spatial segment. Everything becomes congruent in a zone of ›real‹ reflections. That which guarantees the unity and similarity between the first and the second does not constitute the conclusion of the whole – it could (as a model?) be the start of a far-reaching chain reaction; a developmental potential of spectacular magnitude is conceivable
bar.

* Such a thing never appears on its own. Each of these compounds distinguishes itself in the vicinity of its own kind – in the tension-filled context of duplication it takes part in the competition between newly conceived, further developed and exaggerated forms.
